Fotokollektivet In-public bildades år 2000 och är idag en referens för gatufotografer världen över. Begreppet gatufoto är något missledande. Det finns ingen tvungen koppling till gator, utan det handlar om att fånga livet i det offentliga rummet – in public. Gatufoto är inte bara en konstart utan även en viktig dokumentation av hur livet idag ser ut utanför hemmets väggar. Utställningen visar hur modern gatufotografi ser ut idag och att alla gatufotografer inte arbetar på samma sätt. Det finns flera olika inriktningar inom gatufotografin och varje fotograf utvecklar sin egen stil och teknik, och finner sina motivområden.In-public ställer ut på Snickarbacken7 den 22 maj – 26 juni. Vernissage 22 maj kl 17-20.

Ulrika Halvardsson initially opened BADRUMMET in 1991 at Grev Turegatan 23, in Stockholm. It’s a characteristic shop, formed by Ulrika’s personality and sense for colour and design.

BADRUMMET is aiming to have a sophisticated assortment with products from all over the world and to provide costumers with the latest in modern functional bathroom interior.

BADRUMMET sells on a small scale and the assortment is constantly changing.

Hans Hammarskiöld: 60′s Revisited

The new Snickarbacken 7 opened with an exhibition by Sweden’s legendary photographer Hans Hammarskiöld. At the age of 87 Hammarskiöld is as active as ever and to match the ever evolving play between fashion, food, art, music and books dug into his archive. And the result would center the exhibition around a visit to London in 1966. Hammarskiöld travelled with his friend Claes Oldenburg and met a London that certainly was Swinging. The gallerist Robert Fraser, Paul McCartney, John Lennon – along with Claes Oldenburg, Richard Hamilton and many others appear in Hammarskiöld’s subtle and personal images. The London images were accompanied by photographs from Hammarskiöld’s encounters with Niki de Saint Phalle, Rudolf Nureyev, Gunther Sachs and many others.

Arvid Wretman: Studio Visit

Linking to the idea of constant change at Snickarbacken 7 and the fact that there are always people there to have a cup of coffee, to grab a bite, to shop – many of them regulars and thus able to feel the change – young Swedish artist Arvid Wretman, chose to gradually move his studio and studio work to Snickarbacken. During the course of three weeks the visitors would see new work being added just about every day. On June 16 the move was completed and Wretman added another element to the art works, an artist book entitled “Field of Dreams” in a signed and numbered edition of 100 copies. Wretman is an artist always telling stories – personal, humoristic and sad, just like life – wether the process end up in wall paintings, drawings, light boxes of paintings. The exhibition evolves from sketch book notes to a monumental wall piece made on location.

The café opened its first coffebar in 2009 in vasastaden in stockholm.

The year after in september 2010 they opened at snickarbacken 7, it soon became a meeting place for coffee and food lovers. The motto has always been to serve excellent coffee that you can order in a variety of brewing techniques.

Food and sweets are made with love and, the menu changes to follow the seasons.

At snickarbacken 7 you can also buy coffee beans, coffee making equipment, and our own imported sea salt and olive oil, amongst other products.

5 Preview

5Preview was born by coincidence in Rome 2008, the Swedish designer Emeli Martensson started to print t-shirts at her home and they became immediately recognizable through the graphics. The creations merge a Scandinavian punk-rock reality with a sober minimalistic sartorial tradition.

The label then moved to NYC and then to Stockholm. Emeli Martensson is now designing a complete womesnwear collection. Her inspiration comes from the daily life of people born in the 70′s and 80′s. Keywords are SIMPLICITY, WEARABLE and HIGH QUALITY FABRICS.

Nhu Duong

Born in Ho Chi Minh City as daughter of a Kung-Fu Master and a tailoress, Nhu Duong Immigrated to Sweden at the age of 7. Through the progressive use of unusual materials and appropriation of traditional craftmanship, Nhus collections form surrealist experiments that play with the idea of high fashion. Through numerous collaborations and independent art projects, Nhu explores the edges of commercial fashion, creating garments that invite openness and interaction.

Nhu currently lives between Stockholm and Berlin.

Örjan Andersson

Örjan Andersson is a street & fashion jeans brand with a handsome and clean rock-look combined with traditional jeans attributes. Emeli Mårtensson who has the brand 5Preview has made the logo and all the t-shirt prints in the collection. The brand also work close with the Swedish stylist Naomi Itkes

Some years ago Örjan came up with the idea of the brand Cheap monday and the Weekday concept. Andersson started the company’s with a couple of friends and a while ago it was sold to H&M.

Örjan started to think about something new and the result is a premiere collection for spring 12 with jeans and t-shirts. The autumn will be followed up with more types of garments but always with jeans in mind.

The new brand works with more expensive fabrics but the jeans are still very affordable.

The brand also has a message. Från Ö Till A, it comes from Örjan Andersson’s name initials. They are the last and first letters of the Swedish alphabet.

It means that you can do the same thing in several ways, backwards or differently if it feels good

The diffusion line BACK was launched in 2005 and is a concept based brand aimed at intelligent, style conscious women. The BACK line was to begin with aimed at the Scandinavian market, but is today sold worldwide.

Ann-Sofie Back also designs the high end collection Ann-Sofie Back Atelje and is creative director at the Cheap Monday denim label.
